Portugal - Lisbon

Portugal - Lisbon

Praca do Comercio
Back in 2016, I visited Lisbon as my first destination for my two week vacation.
I landed in the afternoon and got settled in the apartment where I was staying at.
I didn't waste no time to kick start my exploring the city, I walked around trying to get familiar with the area. It was difficult at first so I received help from the help desk where they are situated nearby this commerce square.

This place is called the Commerce Sqaure, located in the city of Lisbon, Portugal. The architectural statue and buildings are very interesting and nice.
It was quite a sunny day, considering it's only the start of june when I came here. There was many tourists around me in the commerce square; left, right, center, you know how it is!
I think Euro 2016 was on during the time I was there and a stage was set up for people to watch it on the big screen with seats provided and you can not say no to a pint of beer while watching football! Portugal won the Euro 2016! The city was going absolutely crazy! It was a nice experience to be in another country experiencing the football fans as I am obessed with football.
I do recommend anyone to travel to Lisbon because it's a really friendly place and people from there are helpful to a certain extent.

Behind me is the Belem Tower.
This is one of the main attractions that I researched on and how it was a nice to visit. I had to pay entry fee which was 12 euros which isn't too bad. I had to queue up for almost 45 minutes for me to reach to the top of the tower.

Mid way up the tower, there was this little place for people to see out to the other side. The sea was clear and it was pretty high, didn't dare to put my head outside that window!
It was quite relaxing sitting there next to the window, hearing the sound of the waves, peaceful I would say.

After a long wait, I am finally at the top of Belem Tower.
I could almost see the whole Lisbon where I was standing.
It was really windy as that side of Lisbon was getting cold.
I forgot to mention about the staircase while making my way up here, it was like a spiral with not much room for you to step on so I had to be very careful while going up and down later when it was time to leave.

Lisbon Oceanarium
The largest indoor aquarium in Europe. It is full of marine species and mammals. I spent the day walking around the aquarium and exploring and taking photos.
I came across species that I never seen or know about which was very interesting.

This is the Ocean sunfish where Lisbon Oceanarium is one of the few aquarium to house this particular species.
Compare to the photo, to be there and see it is amazing, the size of the fish is unbelievable!
