Santorini - Greece
Finally we arrived at the airport, taxi driver drove very fast over 100mph but was steady so it was all good! We checked in and grab something to eat. The airport didn't have much of a choice as it was early in the morning. I couldn't remember what I had for food but I remember I had green tea but it didn't taste good at all. The green tea even came 10 minutes later because the guy forgot to make it *screwface*
We now boarded the plane to santorini, 45 minutes flight and expectations is high to see what is santorini all about! White buildings with blue dome and clear blue skies and sea is what I expected. Clearly it didn't disappoint me, it is what it is been said.
After a short flight, we arrived at santorini airport, it was probably the smallest airport I been to, not much there at all! We didn't do research for transport so we got the taxi first to Oia, 30-40minutes drive and it cost 50 euros?
We have reached Oia, finally. It was about 8am in the morning and not much souvenir shops or restaurant are open so we took a stroll around hoping to find something beautiful to see, well I've found it already and it was right next to me, my mrs :) we had breakfast at Vitrin Cafe Creperie. I ordered the Chocolate, strawberry, banana with vanilla ice cream and a hot chocolate to warm myself up as it was quite windy that morning. Crepe was not bad but would prefer it to be soft than crispy.
It was time to continue exploring Oia.
We continue to walk around and explore, taking photos of the view and photos of us. I took a sly shot of my mrs while she was taking a photo of the view, it was really beautiful though, view and obviously herself too.
We came across souvenir shops where they sell many things. I got myself a fridge magnet and couple bead bracelets, I am quite obsessed with bead bracelets. I ended up at a store where I customised my own for me and my mrs. It has HH which is our first initials of our name, 927 which represents our anniversary date. Simple and plain is what I like. :) It cost 8 euros to customised a bracelet, not bad huh?
As time flies by, the weather got better and the sun was beaming down on us so we found a place to sit down and get ourself some tan.
We went to the bus station after to another town called Thira.
Thira is more like a busier town compare to Oia, Oia is more of a attraction for taking photo whereas Thira is more of a tourist place where there are many restaurants and souvenir shops.
The day trip gradually ended with the greatest sunset view.
Watching it with the one you love is considerably the best moment ever. :)
The night falls and it was time to head back to the Athens where we are staying. We arrived back at Athens airport around 1am and we was absolutely shattered.
Well that's my brief detail of my day trip to Santorini.
Peaceeeeee out!
